From Print to the Net: The Top Ten Benefits of Online Marketing Verses Yellow Page Advertising

Advertising today has definitely evolved, just as people and businesses continue to find and discover ways of sharing information with one another. Back then, it was almost imperative for businesses to grace the pages of that thick yellow phonebook more fondly known as the Yellow Pages. The traditional yellow page advertising has been a key promotional tool for businesses to create awareness for their products and services, and sell it to the public.

The advent of the Internet, however, started to alter the way people do things; businesses responded to this by exploring new ways of communicating with and addressing the needs of the people. Today, an increasing number of transactions are already being done online and information-sharing and dissemination over the Net has never been more widespread now than it was before. More businesses are likewise actively promoting themselves online, taking advantage of the growing number of Internet users and wider reach of an online medium. Thus, there came the emergence of online marketing.

Online marketing is fast growing in popularity as an effective advertising tool, and continues to post itself as a viable alternative to the traditional yellow page advertising, especially in a fast-paced and tech-savvy environment. Any avid Internet user today would actually notice that a lot of businesses today have websites where they promote their product and service offerings, and share other types of company information. In contrast, the once very thick Yellow Pages seem to have fewer pages lately, an indication that businesses are recognizing the benefits of increasing their online presence against advertising the traditional way. A thorough comparison of the two modes of advertising reveal that online marketing indeed has a greater number of benefits versus yellow pages advertising. Let me share with you ten benefits which top my list.

First, the Internet allows businesses to share more information to potential customers. Businesses practically have limitless space in their websites which they could fill in and update with information. On the other hand, yellow page advertising has a limit in terms of space that may be utilized to post certain content. The more information is shared in the Yellow Pages, the greater is its investment requirement.

Second, marketing initiatives done online are more easily searchable as compared to those advertised in the Yellow Pages. With the right key words, businesses can easily make their websites accessible to their target market. Information searches done using the Internet is much faster than manual scanning of the Yellow Pages.

Third, online marketing is more cost effective than yellow page advertising. Setting up, designing and running a website could be done for just a small amount of investment. On the contrary, the use of offline medium is known to cost substantially, even reaching thousands of dollars, while being bound by space and time limitations.

Fourth, online marketing makes it possible for businesses to attract hundreds, even thousands, of visitors to their sites, and create two-way interactions with them. Websites can be easily programmed to collect information from site visitors and keep in touch with them. This kind of functionality is not available in the traditional yellow page advertising.

Fifth, customer loyalty is more easily gained via online marketing. The Yellow Pages are simply all about ads, nothing more and nothing less. Meanwhile, websites may contain newsletters, updates and other attention-grabbing information links that encourage repeat customer contact.

Sixth, establishing credibility and gaining the customers’ trust are easier achieved through online marketing than yellow page advertising. Aside from ad placements, company websites can contain a whole range of information that can give customers better knowledge about a company and its products and services. The more customers know about a company, the greater is their tendency to trust it and see it as being reliable.

Seventh, online marketing offers greater convenience and flexibility in terms of updating information, at practically no additional cost. Businesses have total control of the content of their websites and they can modify it at any time they wish. Yellow page advertising does not have this kind of flexibility. In addition, any update done on traditional advertising usually requires additional investment.

Eighth, the effectiveness of marketing initiatives could be measured faster when the online medium is used. Site visits or hits as well as inquiries related to an online advertising placement, for instance, can be readily tracked as compared to calls received in response to a yellow page advertisement.

Ninth, marketing online allows companies to better demonstrate their competitive advantages and support their unique selling propositions. A website highlights the merits of a particular company, while the Yellow Page merely categorizes a company, together with its competition.

Lastly, online marketing has far greater reach than yellow page advertising. Web presence exposes businesses to the whole world, allowing it to tap not only local but international prospects as well. This opens promising opportunities for business growth and expansion later on.

There is no doubt about the power and capabilities of the Internet as an effective marketing tool. No wonder more and more businesses are shifting their budget allocations to enhance their web presence. With the right planning and use of resources, companies can make the most out of online marketing, the next big thing in the field of marketing and advertising.

how to expand a online poker business?

please take a look at our online poker site at pokerandwin.com

Can you please tell me if you thnink its appealing and if youd enjoy playing on it. and also if you have any advertising and marketing ideas, please feel free to share them because we are looking to expand

Well I can see this is a brand new site and I’ll take that into account as I give you my impressions on it. I would hope you’re looking to expand becuase you don’t have any visitors yet 🙂

When starting out in this business most people don’t know what they don’t know and that’s not always a bad thing but I’ll give you a few things to think about at least.

I really like the look and format of the site. Having said that everything else needs to be looked at. Upon visiting I wasn’t really sure what kind of site that this is and only after some digging I figured out it was a poker room of sorts. That’s not good. I’d avoid trying to sell it as a “platform” as this is what you would want to do if you were to license the software which is actually what I thought you were looking to do initially. I like the low key approach but this is almost no key. You need more selling and more hype. On the home page you at a minimum want to answer the question of why should I stay on your site.

Next you want to create a brand and pokerandwin isn’t bad but doesn’t really make as much sense in English as it needs to. “Welcome to Poker and Win” sounds too odd. Once you come up with your brand, the name of your site, it’s not too late to change your domain as you really haven’t done anything with this yet so there’s nothing to lose really.

So you’ve got your brand, Fair Poker we’ll say, and your domain, so now you’ve got to do the on site selling. I’d avoid hokey things like you’re playing against other players. All real poker sites offer this. You want to answer the question of why would someone want to play here as opposed to elsewhere, both free and real money players?

Next here comes the hard part. You’re up against Goliath and you’re not David you’re an ant. If you want your ant to grow this will take three things, money, skill, time. Lots of all 3. Getting players will be challenging and it’s very hard to start up a stand alone room, very hard, sehr sehr schwierig. There’s only been a few sites who have managed to pull this off, and they are the very biggest. Many sites have tried and with a fair bit of money behind them and failed. The problem is getting off the ground. When you license sofware and join a network there are already thousands of players on it when you get your first ones. If you’re on your own there are no or very few players and imagine if I just joined your real money games and there isn’t a game. So that’s going to be your biggest challenge.

I’d forget about the real money end of it and go free play at least to start where it’s still going to be challenging but much less so. You wouldn’t believe the competition for real money stuff. You can build this and sell advertising and when the site is popular enough I’d go with an established poker network and refer the real money players there. Unless you have a million bucks or more to throw at it and have a lot of time to work it.

Viral Marketing Ebook – A Must For You Internet Business

In order to be effective an internet marketer you must start using viral marketing e-books as a tool to build your online business. These e-books should contain text, images, and links to web pages and navigation controls. The use of these marketing E-book will become a very important part of your marketing on the Internet.

Your viral marketing E-book can present your story in an effective way and include links to your web sales pages. If done properly it can become your best salesman.

Using viral E-books as a marketing method is cheap. They don’t take you long to set up and are even faster when you use re-brandable e-books written by other authors. Use your favorite search engine and do a web search. You will find loads of re-brandable e-books that are available on whatever subject you are interested in and that apply to your online business.

E-books are capable of reaching a large audience and are limited only by the enthusiasm of the participants. One of the best ways to distribute these e-books is to offer them to your visitors in exchange for them subscribing to your newsletter or e-zine.

Viral marketing e-books are fairly easy to create. It’s possible to produce your own E-books by combining articles that you have written or have gotten from public domain sources, such as directories.

Your E-book Must Be Interesting And Informative

You should always provide interesting and valuable information to your readers. It is the first view that the reader has of you and it should impress the reader that you are an expert in the field you are writing about. Remember your e-book should always have links back to your web site sales page.

Allow You Reader To Freely Pass Along Your E-book

You should be certain that your viral marketing e-book has a prominent section informing your readers that they are free to give your E-book away. Let them know that they can post it on their site as a free download, that they can use it as a bonus, and that they can bundle it with other products. This is the way to create viral marketing for your products or services.

Make Sure Your E-book Is Ready For Publishing

Before you send your E-book out to the world, double check spelling and grammar and be certain that you have tested each and every link to verify that it goes where it is supposed to go. Obvious errors in your viral marketing e-books will reflect badly on you and will not be of much value to you, it could even by damaging.

Post your E-book to some of the E-book directories. Many let you post it for free, or will let you post a link on their site to your E-book.

Best Online Marketing Masters

best online marketing masters

What are the best online marketing strategies?

Online marketing strategies can enhance your site’s fertility in producing profits but, at the same time, it can be futile if you fail to steer it toward the right direction. Newbie online business entrepreneurs often make severe mistakes in choosing the internet marketing strategies. And this is what is most likely when you do not have your online advertising and marketing strategies properly planned beforehand. Like any brick and mortar business, you should systematize your marketing process in advance by keeping the target and the fruit you have anticipated for in your mind. After all, it is your main objective to produce profits which is the reason you have decided to spend your capital in internet based marketing and advertising campaigns.

One of the biggest blunders that many online entrepreneurs commit is that they start up with any of the online marketing strategies without judging the suitability of the particular marketing strategy. Several online marketers and web masters often commence any promotional campaign by observing their fruitfulness in any other businesses. Remember, an online marketing strategy may be suited as the best one for one business may not be equally effective in your business.

Though, thousands of sites or marketing experts advocate or recommend ‘best online marketing strategies’, but, in fact, contrary to common belief, there can be no universally accepted best marketing strategy or strategies as the best marketing strategy for one site may not yield equally effective promotional results for your products. Therefore, before you finalise on any strategy, keep multiple ” target=”_self”>online marketing strategies on trial simultaneously and keep check how they can influence on your viewers in visiting your site or at least, take part in some kind of online activities such as filling up subscription forms, giving feedbacks or opinions on products or services or the site, commenting on blogs etc.

In the world of web, everyone is searching for either information or products / services using specific search terms. Diverse search terms are returning diverse portals – some can show searchers’ satisfactory answers while some may disappoint them. If you are not willing to disappoint your audience, then choose the set of keywords that can define your site or services the most. To find out the keyword, you can conduct market researches to analyse which key phrases will be mostly used by your aimed group of web visitors. Some key phrases produce only a couple click through rates while some may produce 10 or 20 CTRs – hence, first shortlist a number of keywords and choose the most functional ones that may produce up to one thousand searches in a day.

Need help to find a marketing dissertation topic?

I am a masters student, I am looking for a dissertation topic relating to marketing research. I prefer to do marketing research especially the quantitative field. My interesting is about online communication (e.g. Instant Message, Online community etc.), but I cannot find a proper one, I mean the exact marketing problem.

So, could you please suggest me some ideas about it? Once I decide the marketing problem, I will do my best to research it, and present a good dissertation.

By the way, I have talked with my supervisor, but he didn’t give me any ideas about it…. So poor…..

Thanks for you kind help

Student dissertations is one of the few occasions in LIFE that we actually take the time to think and WRITE on a topic. Mostly we are too busy trying to live and work to write anything substantial outside of work. Take this opportunity to think and write about something that matters to YOU.

Since you like quant research you might write on:
how to use quant to gain a strategic advantage in business

For other topic ideas, go to your local bookstore and browse the business book shelf for marketing best sellers. Scan the chapter titles for topics that look interesting. What’s hot? What topics are selling today? Write to those topics and your dissertation becomes relevant to others as well.

HOT TOPICS:
* Going GREEN
* Creating break-thru messages in a cluttered world
* Internet marketing

Good luck! This dissertation could become the basis for your career or your best seller.

What have the last 3 US presidents done in their first 10 months?

I’m trying to put things into perspective here.. Since I’m hearing so much about how Obama is a failure.
ok, so you people are saying Obama needs to handle a 9/11 incident well too to become a success? What about the 2 before I wasn’t only asking about Bush’s terrorism mishap.

Actually, President Obama has accomplished a great deal so far. He will never get credit for anything from the haters. They are the new American Taliban.

    1. Health Care: The Obama White House cleared an important hurdle in the health care reform debate when it appropriated $19 billion in the stimulus package to help implement an electronic medical record system. The money is paltry compared to the hundreds of billions set aside for an overhaul of the health care system in the budget. But officials inside and out of the White House say its significance is hard to overstate.
“We need to have health IT so we have a better idea both of what works but also… so people can share information,” said Zeke Emanuel, Obama’s health care adviser…in mid-March. “We are on our way in a way that we have never committed ourselves before.”
    2. Communications: A presidential campaign built on innovative messaging and advanced technology has, naturally, become a White House defined by similar characteristics. As such, the reach of the administration’s new media efforts – from hosting online question-and-answer sessions with the president to publishing the first White House blog – has been as expected as appreciated. It’s unfortunate, said one tech savvy Democrat, because the new policies have had tangible impacts. “The White House streams every event with the president on its website, even press events,” he said. “It’s remarkable because, this Sunday they held a swine flu press conference that ordinary people [including many who may have been personally nervous about the topic] were able to watch online… Before you had to wait for a readout or hope that CSPAN would cover it. This is one of those things that people don’t quite understand the significance of.”
    3. Transportation: Since the passage of the economic stimulus package in mid-February, the Obama Department of Transportation has approved 2,500 highway projects. The movement of stimulus money out the door has been as swift as it has been effective: $9.3 billion has been spent in all 50 states. Touting its impact, DOT officials say 260,000 jobs are expected from this investment. And with competition for contracts fierce, the department is set to approve even more projects than previously envisioned. “There will be more money for additional transportation projects,” said the official.
    4. Education: Maligned for its handling of the financial and banking crises, the Obama Treasury Department has nevertheless implemented policies with real qualitative and quantitative impact on debt-burdened families. Chief among those was a $2,500 tax credit to help offset the cost of tuition (among other expenses) for those seeking a college education. Nearly five million families are expected to save $9 billion, according to Treasury officials.
    5. Cars: The automobile industry at the White House and Congress’s behest has undergone seismic structural changes, managerial reorganization, and massive cuts in employment. But for all the tough love, the president has put in place the framework for an industry recovery. Perhaps the most significant of steps was to allocate $2 billion in stimulus cash for advanced batteries systems. One high-ranking Hill aide called battery technology “the next big frontier” in the automotive world, adding that if the U.S. could dominate this market it would reclaim its perch as the world’s premier car manufacturer.
    6. Pakistan: Cognizant of a destabilizing situation in Pakistan, the administration’s diplomatic team, with a major assist from Japan, secured $5 billion in aid commitments “to bolster the country’s economy and help it fight terror and Islamic radicalism” within the country. The money, as Pakistan observers…note, will prove instrumental in bringing the nation away from the brink of failure and increased Taliban control.
    7. Cities: More than any prior president, Obama has put a spotlight on America’s struggling cities, even creating an office of Urban Policy in the White House. It is the Justice Department, however, that lays claim to one of the most consequential of urban affairs achievements. Through the Recovery Act, DOJ secured $2 billion for Byrne Grants, which funds anti-gang and anti-gun task forces. The money, cut during the Bush years, is expected to have massive ramifications on inner-city crime and violence.
    8. Engaging the Muslim World: While certainly discussed, foreign affairs experts insist that Obama’s engagement with the Muslim world has been at once remarkable and under-appreciated. From the first interview with Al Arabiya to his Nowruz address to the Iranian people, to his proclamation that “American is not at war with Islam” during an appearance in Turkey, seasoned observers have been routinely impressed. “Through these [statements and interviews],” said one Democratic foreign policy hand, “He has been able to dramatically change America’s image in that region.”
    9. Forests: Since taking office, the White House has put under federal protection more than two million acres of wilderness, thousands of miles of river and a host of national trails and parks. The conservation effort – the largest in the last 15 years – came with the stroke of a pen when Obama signed the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009 in late March.
    10. Tone: Leaving a meeting at the White House on Tuesday a progressive member of the House of Representatives commented …just how impressed she was with the president’s manner. “He is so calm,” said the member, “and has a great ability to make you feel like you’re being respected and listened to.”
It is not, necessarily, a unique observation. But among many Democrats and even casual observers, Obama’s tone is cited as one of the chief catalysts for his outstanding early poll numbers. “Despite record job loss,” said one Democratic aide, “there’s still hope in America.” Indeed, from the beginning of his presidency the percentage of people who believe the nation is headed in the right direction has risen from 19 percent to 42 percent, according to a recent ABC News-Washington Post Poll.

    Examples Of Online Marketing Resumes

    Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

    examples of online marketing resumes

Stock Market Online February 9, 2009 Monday Evening

Stocks seesawed today as investors looked to Washington for direction on the stimulus package vote
that is scheduled for a Senate vote on Tuesday. It is likely we could have a small relief rally if the
Senate approves the stimulus package. The odds favor that the bill gets passed on the first round but
if not, we could get a round of selling that would give us a second helping in the long positions of
some of our stocks on the list below.

BAC- Bank of America and USB-US Bancorp are the only banking stocks from our bank list
continuing the move up from last week. USB didn’t move up near as much as the other banks so that
was a hold and BAC was sold on Friday toward the close on Friday.

Since we harvested most of the swing and intermediate trades, it mostly became a target rich
environment for the intraday trades or scalping on our usual list but many more stocks we don’t
normally watch were tradable. After any harvest like we just had especially in the banking stocks, it is
best to sit on sidelines watching and waiting for good set-ups for high probability trades. We are
somewhat back in the “no mans land” but the market seems to have a bias toward the bullish side. If
we can get a stimulus package passed and a banking bailout reassured, then investors and money
managers will start ignoring the bad news and look to the future, which is likely to result in an uptrend.

Having a large long position now before the stimulus package vote is not advisable; it is like buying a
stock long on the idea the company beats earnings expectations and that is a dangerous strategy.

Oil prices has drifted slightly lower to $39.69. Losing my patience with USO, US Oil Fund ETF as
I have mishandled this last helping of this ETF.

Intermediate Trade Positions: New ideas: POT, Potash, an ag-chemical had a big swing today
from a high of $95.40 to 87.80. This is the idea we were looking for before considering purchasing
long. Few more days of watch and wait for either a swing or intermediate. Intraday short scalps on
this were outstanding today with almost an $8 potential or 9.1%.

Swing Trades: No new ideas. Still on sidelines.

Day Traders/Intraday stock ideas: Just another outstanding day on intraday trading. Keep
scanning amongst these and other past favorites for good drop and pop signals. We will also see
reversals Continue to watch ICE, BLK, CME, POT, MON, MOS, AMZN, AAPL, FSLR, BIDU, WFC,
JPM and any high volume, high volatility stocks.

NOTES: We are getting higher frequency of bullish days as anticipated and the obvious weeks. Be
patient, use small positions and use wise money management and trailing stops in
    intermediate trades.

I am still expecting some sort of substantial rally in the stock market sometime this year mostly driven by the massive
stimulus that has already been poured into the system plus the planned stimulus package being proposed now. Longer
term though, in a couple years down the road, no doubt the taxpayer is going to have to pay for such the high debt
amounts that the US government (and other countries) have taken on. So tax rates probably will rise in coming years, interest rates will very likely have to rise as inflation surfaces and likely the bear market resumes sometime down the
road. But we don’t have to be stuck in a miserable cycle like most investors. With the techniques and approach to the
    market, we will still thrive.

If you have been uncomfortable shorting stocks, which most people are, learn to get used to it, this will be a useful tool in
    the coming years.

When I list several stocks from the same sector, like the housing industry for example, don’t short all of them unless you
are well diversified and it represents a small percentage of your total stock account (in that same account).
REPEAT: Keep an eye out for biotechs; they are building momentum and often do well in January.

SWI (SWING): 2-7 days INT: Intermediate term position 8 days to several months. Open Price: price paid on opening
long position or price sold on short position. Bold notes on table above represent changes from previous day.
Current positions are highlighted in yellow.

Thoughts: Best odds only, be decisive, aggressive, mentally flexible, stay in position size, don’t overtrade and
wait a little longer to buy and wait a little longer to sell. You will find that will make you more money on your
trades. Trade what you see, not what you hope for. Intermediate trades are really important to have
    trailing stop losses set.
Don’t trade unless the setup is there for you, then use the charts to tell you when the odds are heavily in your
favor. Don’t force anything to work for you, let the setups develop and then take advantage of that. Be patient.
Stay in position sizes without letting any intraday trade represent no more than 10-15% of your total account
value. As you build your account, your position size percentage should get smaller and smaller to lower your
    risk.
Have a great day and I’ll talk to you tomorrow.

I live and work in Phoenix and want to move to California?

However, Phoenix az has so many jobs here, for example when I put my resume online I get calls from wells fargo, bank of america, american express, and the list goes on and on and on so you have the freedom to choose for what company you want to work, and it’s not like in other cities where you have to really try hard and get a cheesy job….. BUT WE ARE TIRED OF THE EXTREME HEAT, 110 DEGREES FOR LIKE 5 MONTHS OUT THE YEAR and then it goes down to like 100 for another 3 months… and winter here is like 80 degrees wich is only like 2 months……
anywhere in california where the job market is similar????
I love san diego but is it like that down there, jobwise?
    please help if you know

San Diego (and surrounding communities) is EXPENSIVE. Pay is lower than other high-cost areas (such as the San Francisco bay area or Los Angeles). The job market is a little tight. Housing prices have eased, but are still expensive.

Riverside and San Bernardino counties to the north are booming. It’s warmer there, but not as hot as Phoenix.

    Channelize Your Email Marketing Campaigns

Email is the most widely used service over the world wide web. It has become more of a tool to communicate, share information, providing guidelines, business correspondence, etc. The vast use of this service has also made it useful for marketing activities. More and more marketers are imbibing bulk email marketing campaign into their schedule. This helps them to have a better impact over their target customers. Remember that email marketing done in an effective way, does not even come close to Spam, rather it helps both the client and the potential customers.

The bulk email marketing campaigns have to be tackled efficiently. The first thing is to set objectives related to the interest that may be client retention, generate interest, impart information, etc. The marketer or marketing agency needs to compile the existing data in a systematic manner. From saving in an address book to writing down on papers, any method can be followed, depending on the size of organization or resources available. Now, understanding the legal part is essential because sending unsolicited mails is only legal for businesses and not individuals.

To maintain the legality of object, there must be a link or option provided to unsubscribe from mailing list. The content generation must be done effectively by experts or after researching all by yourself. The subject must be arresting, catchy and short. More use of words like ‘free’ and ‘best’ should be avoided, so that it does not get identified as Spam. In addition, try personalizing the mails with including recipient’s name. There are many templates available on the Internet for being utilized into an email marketing campaign, use one of them.

Now, another important thing to remember is the mode of sending emails. For an effective email marketing campaigns, there has to be bulk mailing software or appoint a premier online marketing company to do the job. It is quite possible that all of the process would be channelized there effectively. The marketers must reply to the unsubscribed leads in a thanking way, and may also inquire in a gentle manner. marketing online?

I am starting to be an independant rep for a company that has provided me with a personal web site, which Im trying to market online. Does anyone have any suugestions of where and how to do this. I am on myspace so any suggestions regarding that would be great to!

That’s confusing. You said your your company provided you with a personal Web site, then you said your on MySpace.

Regardless, no one will take you seriously (professionally) if you send them to a MySpace page.

Set up a personal Web site:
WordPress.com is the best to get a fast start and it’s advertising-free hosting.
or, WordPress.org offers you more flexibility and control over the template, but you need your own hosting provider.

Add a professional blog content on it. You can read lots of details here:
    http://www.admadman.com/2006/09/15/write-professional-blog/

Then market youself as your own personal brand. Go out and post articles and comments on industry sites to help establish yourself as a subject matter expert and possibly drive traffic to your Web site.

Put out a weekly podcast on a subject you are knowledgable about.

It all builds your reputation, which can lead to traffic and referrals.

To jump start traffic, invest in a paid Search campaign (Google Adwords). Define targeted keywords about your service and drive the traffic to your Web site.

    Good luck!
