Affiliate marketing is an Internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliate for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate’s marketing efforts.

Affiliate marketing is also the name of the industry where a number of different types of companies and individuals are performing this form of Internet marketing, including affiliate marketing, affiliate management companies, and in-house affiliate managers, specialized third party vendors, and various types of affiliates/publishers who promote the products and services of their partners.

Affiliate marketing overlaps with other Internet marketing methods to some degree, because affiliates often use regular advertising methods. Those methods include organic search engine optimization, paid search engine marketing, e-mail marketing, and in some sense display advertising. On the other hand, affiliates sometimes use less orthodox techniques, such as publishing reviews of products or services offered by a partner.
Affiliate marketing—using one website to drive traffic to another—is a form of online marketing, which is frequently overlooked by advertisers. While search engines, e-mail, and website syndication capture much of the attention of online retailers, affiliate marketing carries a much lower profile. Still, affiliates continue to play a significant role in e-retailers’ marketing strategies.

Online Advertising Ratings

Why don’t major TV networks broadcast all their programming online?

They make money based on ratings & advertising, right?
What do they gain by only offering snippets and reruns online?

They still have make money on advertisements by playing reruns online. Haven’t you seen those 30 second clips before the video? Why don’t major TV networks broadcast all their programming online? Because the television market would be in trouble.

best online marketing tactics

What are some car dealer sales tactics to beware of?

Also what are some good buyer tactics to get a good deal on buying a brand new car?

There’s a lot of good advice here. The reality is that there are very few real “scams” out there. The bulk of what you see written about “Top 10 dealer scams” is either laughably outdated or can be boiled down to the buyer simply not knowing what to ask or not doing proper research. Remember that the car isn’t sold until the buyer signs the bottom line. It’s your responsibility to do your homework and make sure you’re getting a fair deal.

Here is some advice from someone in the business:

If I can offer one piece of advice it would be to get every aspect of the deal separately. DO NOT GET TIED UP TALKING ABOUT PAYMENTS!! TALK ONLY ABOUT THE CASH PRICE. If you don’t have a rough idea as to what he payments would be on a loan, you need to figure that out first. A rule of thumb is that on a 5 year loan, the payments will be $20 for every $1000 borrowed, meaning a $10K loan will be about $200 per month, and $50K will be about $1000 per month. You need to know exact numbers for the following:

Sticker price of the new car
Sale price of the new car
Actual trade value
Any and all dealer fees for documentation or prep
Loan terms and payment based on these numbers (how long is the loan, how much do you need to put down)

Again, DO NOT LET THEM STEER THE CONVERSATION TOWARD PAYMENT ONLY. You need to figure out of the loan payments will be affordable before you start shopping for cars. Don’t waste your time or the dealer’s time by looking at things you can’t afford. Having all the numbers broken allows you to back into the financing as well as shop at competitive dealers. ASK FOR THOSE ITEMS TO BE BROKEN DOWN SPECIFICALLY AND CLEARLY. Ask, will you sell me the car for this price even if I don’t trade my car in? Ask if there are any rebates facotred into the sale price, and if so, how much is the rebate.

As for choosing a dealer, the best thing to do is shop at a couple and figure out where you’re most comfortable and who you like best. Form there, get quotes form a couple dealers, get your best price, and then go back to the place you liked best and ask them to match or beat the best deal you got. Where you do business is as important as who gives you the lowet price. It’s not a crime for a dealer to make a fair profit, we have families too! Work with the place that you feel will take the best care of you after the sale. Ask if they have loaners, extended hours ofr service, pickup/ dropoff service etc. These are the things that set dealers apart.

Do your research online. Check Edmunds.com Fair Market Value to get an idea what you should pay for the new car. Check Kbb.com, NADA.com, and Edmunds.com for trade values. Be realistic about your trade, and recognize that if there are things the dealer has to fix to sell your car, those items will reduce the value. Clean it up and wash it.

Hope this helps!

How does one start up a service based business online?

I have $20,000 and a great idea for a serviced based business that would function online. It is a great idea, although I withdraw to share it as of right now.

I am not very knowledgable when it comes to setting up a website, so what steps should I take to start up this website?

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.

If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

As an experienced webmaster I recommend BlueHost service which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.

They are a Multi-awarded Web Hosting which offer a Full-featured service only $6.95. You can see their Plan Details accompanied with reliable reviews regarding their service at:

Online Advertising Gives

online advertising gives

How much does advertising space on websites cost?

I have a website with really good traffic and have a couple of companies wanting to buy advertising space how much should I ask for? Our website is well established but I have never sold advertising space and would like to start doing so.

It’s hard to give an ad rate because it depends on a number of factors

1. the audience the site attracts – a site for high net worth individuals, even if traffic is only 10,000 pageviews a month, can command higher rates compared to a site that attracts teenagers and gets 10 million pageviews a month

2. traffic levels – the more traffic you have, the higher rates you can charge compared to other sites in your segment

3. the sizes – normally, the bigger the size, the higher the rate. Hence, a wide sky can charge higher than the regular sky. Or a large rectangle can have a higher price than a button. Or a leaderboard can have a higher price than regular 468×60 banner. Rich media ads are higher than static ads.

4. advertiser exposure – will the advertiser buy all your ad inventory in various formats, or will they buy for longer periods of time

To find out the rates, here are some strategies:

– go to your competitors and check if they have online media kits and check their ad formats and their rates. If not published online, send them a request (try to pretend you’re interested in advertising with them)
– check out the rates you’re getting in the banner ad networks such as BurstMedia.

One thing you will need to provide: a way for advertisers to see the results of their campaign in terms of impressions and clicks. So you need to have an ad server. Check out OPENX http://www.openx.org/ which is a free ad server that allows your advertisers to check their stats in real time
