How do eco-friendly products help the environment?

I’m writing a paper on how eco-friendly products such as household cleaners are beneficial for the environment, but I’m running out of good resourses, as well as good explanations to back up my thesis. Can someone help? Thank you

The amount of energy you consume and start using renewable energy sources, such as wind power and solar power. Sign up for Green Energy with your local power provider. If they don’t have it, then tell them to get it.
By using products made with recycled materials. Make or buy a compost bin to use your organic waste as fertilizer for your trees, shrubs, and garden.
All materials to your best ability in your local area.
There is a green movement in the country, it could be a case of too little too late, but at the least we are moving towards a nation that has a conscious about destroying the environment. The green movement has caught on with many groups and has become fashionable in some industries. The home building or home improvement industry is no exception. Many construction companies, home improvement centers and building products advertise some level of commitment towards “green” or environmentally friendly construction. Are these companies actually fulfilling their promises? That is a discussion for another day What we want to focus on is how a wood kitchen cabinet can help you become environmentally friendly. Everyone should want to reduce their “carbon footprint”. This carbon footprint is roughly defined as the amount of CO2 that you, as a living person, put into the environment each day. It can be everyday activities like driving a car, running an air conditioner, or building a house. Almost everything you do has a connection to the environment, be it direct or incidental. Taking products and using them is basically us being consumers and from this consumption we are taking from nature. This then creates pressure on the environment. So again, if I am building a house or renovating my kitchen, how do wood kitchen cabinets help lower my carbon footprint? The first thing is to define a “wood kitchen cabinet”. Unless you’re living in the nineteenth century, you’re probably not going to see a solid wood cabinet. It is not economical and it just does not make sense in the building industry.

What you are getting in wood kitchen cabinets is one of two things. Solid wood faced cabinets with paneled wood sides (these are the good cabinets) or the lesser quality cabinet that is a wood front and a particle board side (places like Home Depot and Lowe’s sell these inferior cabinets). Now that you have a definition of what really is a wood kitchen cabinet, you can then ask where I find these solid wood cabinets with paneled sides. The very best, easiest, and least expensive method to buying these cabinets is actually online. Yes, the internet cabinet websites easily beat any retail prices. (Mostly because of less over head). Finally, how am I saving the environment, if I am buying wood kitchen cabinets? The trick to saving money and the environment is the RTA kitchen cabinet. It is not a brand name, but rather a style of cabinet. RTA stands for “ready to assemble”. These cabinets are about thirty to forty percent less than an assembled cabinet and they are actually helping to cut down carbon emissions and save lumber. These all wood RTA kitchen cabinets use the entire tree, thus cutting waste. Furthermore, these cabinets save space on shipping. They are unassembled so they take up to fifty percent less space. This “space savings” contributes to less shipping; this produces less carbon dioxide. You may say that does not seem like much, but when you add up the number of shipments, this becomes a huge amount of carbon dioxide that is kept out of the atmosphere. So in the end, every little bit helps. Yes buying wood kitchen cabinets, especially RTA kitchen cabinets will help the environment. Now all we have to do is get everyone to do their own small part.

How do I work from home in a real company? No scammers?

I just would like to work at home doing data entry or transcription but i dont want to have to buy the software or put any money into this business please help. Also about the surveys you can do on the net what ones actually pay you instead of just give you “points” please help also one omre thing what about reading emails anyone know about that

This is from the Better Business Bureau:
Recognizing a Work at Home Scam
Avoid falling victim to a work at home scam by recognizing the following warning signs in job advertisements:
• Boasts no experience necessary
• Promises easy money and huge part-time earnings
• Promotes having “inside” business information
• Asks you to purchase products or instructions before getting “hired”
Outcomes of a Work at Home Scam
Protect yourself from tempting work-at-home promotions that offer exaggerated benefits by being informed of the outcomes. The outcomes of work at home scams include: a waste of money, time, reputation, and morale.
Victims of work at home scams have reported losses ranging from $10 to $70,000. Although the money loss may be recovered, the countless hours that you spend on unfruitful projects can’t. You may also end up selling nonexistent services and poor products to your customers, making yourself vulnerable to charges of fraudulent practices.
Types of Work at Home Scams
• Assembly Jobs: Involves investing hundreds of dollars to buy instructions and materials to produce crafts and signs for a potential company. After producing the products, the company may refuse to buy your products because it doesn’t meet their standards.
• Multi-Level Marketing (MLM): Requires you to recruit new people to sell a scammer’s products or services. You often end up making close to nothing when the direct sales system crashes.
• Stuffing Envelopes: Tricks people into believing they can make $3 or $4 per envelope they stuff. If you apply, you may end up receiving promotional material asking you to buy instructions on how to get rich quick. The instruction will show you how to post similar job ads for stuffing envelopes.
• Online Businesses: Advertises how you can start your own online business and start making money fast. If you apply you will be asked to purchase a pointless guide to work-at-home jobs.
• Processing Claims: Deceives you into thinking that you can make hundreds of dollars a week by processing insurance claims for health care providers. Asks you to pay for training and to buy equipment and software in order to get started.
The best way to protect yourself from work at home scams is by not applying and staying informed of the outcomes. Remember there’s no easy way to make money. Every start up business and career requires hard work, resources, and luck.

The Truth Behind Nigerian Scams
• Emerged in the early 1980s under consecutive governments of Nigeria.
• Constitutes the 3rd to the 5th largest industry in Nigeria.
• May be also referred to as an advanced fee fraud, 419 fraud, The Nigerian Connection, and 419 – a section of the criminal code of Nigeria
• Authorities often don’t recover the cash raked in from victims.
• Perpetrators are often West Africans, predominantly Nigerians, who work from Nigeria and abroad.
• Nigerian scams remain a confidence fraud, not a cyber crime, tapping into all avenues of communications.
How Nigerian Scams Work
The potential victim of a Nigerian scam receives a letter via spam, fax, or mail. The letter requests the recipient to aid in laundering money out of the country or another illegal job in return for a huge sum of money. Many variations of the Nigerian scam letter exists, but most request a small amount of money to help transfer an incredible amount of wealth in return for a substantial monetary award.
However, if the recipient chooses to pay the upfront fee to help transfer the money. The recipient will often receive another request for a transfer fee with a promise of even more cash. This continues until the recipient runs out of money or the scammer moves on to fresh bait.
Some scammers may even request your personal information, like your bank account or credit card number, so they can transfer the non-existent cash award to you, making it important to know that whenever you give your personal information online or over the phone you open yourself to the possibilities of falling victim to identity theft, credit card fraud, insurance fraud, internet fraud, and more scams. So, take the extra step to protect your personal information and discard Nigerian scam letters and other unsolicited emails, services, and requests.
Recipients of Nigerian Scams
If you receive a Nigerian scam letter through any means of communication, you should do the following:
• Discard the letter and don’t respond
• Post a complaint to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) or
• File a complaint to the Nigerian Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at, if you’ve lost money
• Write a letter to the email provider of the scammer at the abuse address, if you received the scam through your free email provider. Remember to include the letter you’ve received plus its headers and subject line in the complaint.

What’s your favorite links for comparing stocks in same sectors?

I am learning about stocks and need to select stock for my online stock market game. I want to do some comparison shopping and want tools to help me do that. I don’t want to pay for the information and am pretty sure that what I need is out there for free anyway. Thanks.

If you go to Yahoo Finance

Enter the stock symbol in the box, I’m using MRO (Marathon Oil Co)

then click on the small chart of MRO on the right, and you get an intraday chart.…

At the bottom of the chart, expand the chart to one year by clicking on the “1Y” tab…

To compare this stock against an index (let’s use the DJIA or Dow), click on the “Compare” tab and check the DJI (Dow Jones Industrials) box…

Finally you have your comparison of Marathon Oil against a major stock market index.

You can see that they track rather nicely until last December, when MRO began to underperform the market.

Since the Dow is up 30% and MRO up only 20%, the conclusion here is that MRO underperformed the market by 10% this year.

Alternatively, instead of choosing the Dow to compare against, you can compare against any other stock as well. When you have the chart up of one of the stocks, click the Compare tab and enter the stock symbol of the second stock.

What is the most cost effective way to sell a car?

Where should I advertise it to get the get the best response at the lowest price?
I’m from th UK. Does an advert in the local newsagents actually work.

Craigslist is free and Autotrader is about $40 for 3 months online and print. I usually do craigslist for a week or two, and if I don’t get much response, I’ll suck it up and use autotrader.

Where can I advertise for free?

I wanted to advertise my website to potential customers. I would like it to be online advertising, as well as offline. If you don’t know any advertising that is free, then just tell me where is the cheapest advert? Thank you!

“If you build it, they will come” is not necessarily true on the Web. Putting a website up is one thing, but getting visitors to come to your site is another. The process becomes even more difficult if you have limited resources to market your business.

Here are some shoestring marketing ideas that can help you get the visitors you need at the least cost possible:

1. Create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement – if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others.

2. Make it easy for users to recommend your site. Viral marketing is very important — and easy to tap on the Web. But give your users the tools. Get a Recommend this Site script from websites such as and similar directories of scripts. Some even go as far as giving incentives to those who recommend the site to their friends. If only 10 people go to your site, but these 10 people invite 10 more – that’s additional traffic that you get for FREE!

Recommend Site Scripts (various)
Big Nose Bird Recommend this Site
CGI Resource Index

3. Rank well in the search engines (organic search results, not the pay per click). SEs can be a big source of traffic. The key is to create the best content in your niche. If you have good content, other websites will gladly link to you and offer your site as a resource to their audience. Check the on-page factors and be sure to get linked from authority sites in your topic area.

If you are going to read only one piece on search engine optimization, I suggest you read Brett Tabke of’s “Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone: 26 steps to 15k a day.”

4. Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News. My website (see my profile) accepts free press release submission (no strings attached!)

5. Submit articles. Write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. If 50 websites publish your article and it contains a link back to your website, then you easily get 50 links from a single article. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.

Here is a comprehensive list of where to submit your articles;_ylt=AhzreGmnCUicOoyedqypscUjzKIX?qid=1006022407481

6. Improve your conversion. Getting visitors is one thing; getting them to buy your products is a whole different story. Read the article “10 Ways to Convert Visitors to Buyers” for tips on how to improve your conversion rates.

7. Post a link to your site for free where it is allowed (always read the Terms of Use). Examples are:

Google Base

Text Link Exchange
Yahoo Classifieds
